SingleHop Rolls Out Cascade Cloud

January 13th, 2011

SingleHop Cloud ServersSingleHop has joined the cloud revolution with a new cloud hosting service called Cascade. The cloud hosting platform can be added to your SingleHop managed or unmanaged dedicated server, a move that gives you the best of both worlds with the incredible flexibility of the cloud, with the control that users of dedicated server options require.

Cascade works the same as a dedicated server, with the advantage of being “self-healing.” As a result, downtime from server failures are a thing of the past. If a hardware failure does occur, Cascade automatically transfers your instance to another physical node. It also allows for rapid scaling in both directions, on an as-needed basis.

Users opting to deploy Cascade will still use the same server technology. Data will be stored on SingleHop’s proprietary cloud storage system, which gives users the advantage of continued uptime even in the event of a failure of server hardware. Users will also be able to use the platform to create virtual machines on the fly. Cascade will work with SingleHop’s LEAP and Tandem server management systems.

Cascade is simple to implement and use. You don’t have to be an IT expert to move to the cloud-deployment is as simple as just choosing your base hardware, and then connecting it to Cascade with a single on-screen option. Cost starts at $40 per month per server.
