SingleHop Launches CloudLinux

SingleHop, a leading Chicago-based, dedicated server host, released its CloudLinux operating system at the Parallels Summit in February. The OS, part of SingleHop’s Cascade cloud hosting services initiative, is the first commercial Linux OS optimized for shared hosting providers and data centers.

Currently, integration between cloud computing and dedicated hosting is often difficult, but Cascade and the CloudLinux OS brings all the benefits of cloud computing to dedicated servers. The new system offers users superior security over the typical shared cloud model, and also offers instant scalability-a key component of cloud computing. The system also establishes new systems for isolating sites from one another, fault tolerance, high availability, and the ability to access data from any location.

CloudLinux can be easily interchanged with Centos or Red Hat Enterprise Linux with an easy, five-minute migration. The release is especially significant given the incredible interest in cloud computing services, both at the consumer and corporate level.
