Hostgator 2010 in Review, Future Plans for 2011HostGator’s January newsletter has noted that 2010 was a big year for the company. Moreover, the newsletter also noted that the company will have a few exciting developments and announcements for 2011.

HostGator Highlights for 2010

HostGator was established in 2002 and since then, the company has become a leading provider of web hosting services – offering shared, reseller, VPS, and dedicated server packages. And although HostGator is based in Houston Texas, the company now provides services to clients from over 200 countries and employs more than 500 employees.

The following are a few of HostGator’s highlights for 2010:

  • HostGator grew from 2.9 million domains hosted at the beginning of the year to over 4.9 million domains hosted at the end of the year.
  • Today, there are more than 500 employees and the company has just opened a new office in Austin, TX. Moreover, HostGator had their largest training class ever on January 24 when 64 new support representatives received their initial training. This means that HostGator’s response time to customer enquiries will further increase.
  • On the marketing front, HostGator sponsored a NASCAR team and has begun placing ads on billboards all over the USA. In addition, the company sponsored or donated to a number of worthy causes such as breast can research and relief for Haiti.

HostGator Announcements for 2011

For 2011, HostGator will continue releasing or upgrading their products and services as well as come up with new tools and features their customers. Highlights for 2011 include:

  • The company will be launching a domain registrar very soon. This will allow customers to transfer all of their domains to HostGator.
  • Through a partnership with Attracta, HostGator’s shared hosting customers now have a new section in their control panel called Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Tools. These easy-to-use tools from Attracta will help HostGator customers to get more traffic from search engines.
  • This month (February 2011), HostGator will be introducing the new HostGator Account Manager (HAM) which will create one central location for customers to manage billing details and make payments as well a manage dedicated servers, VPS accounts, domain name management and HostGator affiliate accounts.

As we enter 2011, HostGator is well positioned to solidify itself as a leading provider of web hosting services for customers in the US and around the world.
