Lately I’ve signed up for a hosting account with StartLogic (review) and for the first time I’ve got to try vDeck, a web hosting control panel. So while at it, I figured I could make some tutorials for you vDeck users out there.
The first I had to was to add an additional domain to my account so this is what we’re going to see today. In this case, we’re going to add a domain name registered elsewhere.
This tutorial has been done with StartLogic’s control panel, so things may be a little different with your web host.
Assuming you’re already logged in your vDeck control panel, click on the Domain Central icon from the Domain panel.

Next click on Domain Pointing from the menu. On the next page, enter the domain name you want to add to your account and specify in which directory you want this new domain to be hosted:

Personnally, I like to place all additionnal domains into another directory rather than in a subdirectory of public_html. For instance, you could place all your domains into a folder named /domains. This would prevent your website from being accessed from “http://www.maindomain.com/addon-domain”.
When you’re done, hit the Add Domain button. You should now get a confirmation message from vDeck saying that the new domain has been added to the server.
Now all that’s left to do is to make sure your domain’s dns servers are pointing to your host’s nameservers. If your hosting with Startlogic, simply use “ns1.startlogic.com” and “ns2.startlogic.com”.
If you’re hosting with some other web host and don’t know which nameservers to use, just contact their support departement and they will be able to help you.

Hi, I added a wrong domain using this method, and now I don’t know how to remove it from the list.
I tried editing the domain, but I only get these options:
Set Contact Info
Refresh WHOIS
Lock Domains
Enable/Disable Domain Privacy
Unlock Domains
Group/Ungroup Domains
Enable/Disable Auto-renewal
Renew Domains
Update Nameservers
How can I remove the name form the listing?
