Reseller Hosting: How To Customize Your Users’ cPanel Theme With Your Logo

Branding is an important aspect of every business, whether its online or not. It helps people recognize your business and remembering it while giving them a feeling of trust.

If you’re into web hosting or reseller hosting, one way of keeping your business’ image in front of your customers’ eyes is by customizing their control panel. If you’re providing cPanel Hosting to your customers, this is very easy to achieve.

How To Customize cPanel With Your Logo

First log into WHM as either a reseller or system administrator. Next click on Branding from the left column menu, right under the cPanel section.

Now it is possible to add a new Branding theme but we won’t go there (at least not yet). Instead we’ll simply add our corporate logo to an existing theme.

At the very bottom of the cPanel Branding page, there should be a list of all available cPanel skins. Select the skin for which you want to modify a theme (a single skin can have multiple themes). For this tutorial, we’ll edit one of the x3 skin theme.

Now let’s say we want to upload a new logo for the Blue Lagoon theme. Simply click on the Edit this Style link in the corresponding theme box:

From the Edit Branding Style page, click on Edit Logos.

On the next page, use the Browse button to select an image file with your logo from your local hard drive. Click the Upload Images button when you’re done.

WHM should now confirm that your logo has been installed. Click on the Go Back To Editing (blue_lagoon) link.

If everything went correctly, you should now see your newly uploaded logo at the top of the Branding Editor page.

At this point you could leave it like that and users who already have this theme selected will see your logo. But you can also “force” this theme upon your users’ account. If you want to do so, click on Go Back To Branding Editor from the logo upload page.

From the blue_lagoon box, click on Apply to All accounts or Apply to My Account depending on what you want to do. When you’re done, you should now have a brand new cPanel header with your corporate identity proudly displayed!
