November 4th, 2008 · No Comments

When you get your cPanel server, some services, such as HTTP, mail and MySQL, are already enabled by default. But you can customize and enable or disable other services. You can even have them monitored and restarted “automagically” when if they crash.

How To Enable or Disable Services with cPanel / WHM

Start by logging in your WHM control panel (usually located at http://www.yourwebsite.com:2086). From the left column menu, click on Service Manager. You will be presented with a list of all the services you can choose to enable, disable and monitor.

So has you might have guessed it at this point, simply check or uncheck the appropriate checkboxes in order to enable or disable any services.

You can also choose to monitor a service. if it happens to crash, a restart will be attempted and you will be notified by email. The monitoring cycle runs every 15 minutes by default.

Hit the Save button and you’re done!
