How to Upgrade or Downgrade an Account Using cPanel / WHMOne great feature of cPanel is that it allows administrators and resellers to create packages. These packages contain the information needed to create a user account such as the allowed disk space, bandwidth, the number of email accounts, the number of databases, etc.

But sometimes, your client need more resources and may want to upgrade to a better hosting plan (or package). WHM has a nice feature that will allow you to do just that: upgrade or downgrade user accounts.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Log into WHM
  2. Click the Account Functions icon
    whm-upgrade-downgrade-account-1
  3. Click the Upgrade/Downgrade an Account icon
    whm-upgrade-downgrade-account-2
  4. On the Upgrade/Downgrade an Account screen, click the domain/user to upgrade or downgrade on the left-hand side of the Account Selection window; the right-hand side will update to show information about the account
    whm-upgrade-downgrade-account-3
  5. Click the Modify button
    whm-upgrade-downgrade-account-4
  6. The Upgrade/Downgrade Account screen is displayed. Select an available package and click the Upgrade/Downgrade button

    whm-upgrade-downgrade-account-5

  7. Account Upgrade/Downgrade confirmation is displayed
    whm-upgrade-downgrade-account-6

The changes are then applied automatically.
