This is the second part of this tutorial on How To Setup A Mailing List with cPanel. This time around we’ll see how to actually send an email to your mailing list.
I gotta say that Mailman’s interface is quite ugly and hasn’t evolved much over the years. Still it is a very powerful tool and better yet, it’s free.
So read carefully the rest of this tutorial and everything should be working fine.
To send an email to your mailing list, head over to http://yourwebsite.com/mailman/admin and click on the list name you want to manage. Next enter the mailing list password you have specified upon creation and click on Let Me In.
Now we need to define two things: the administrator’s email address and an email address from which all emails sent to the mailing list will be approved automatically.
Click on General Options from the top menu and enter the administrator’s email address. This address will be used to send notifications regarding the mailing list. Don’t forget to click on the Submit Your Changes button at the bottom when you’re done.

We’re now going to define an email address from which you will be able to send emails without approving them (because messages sent to your mailing list are usually moderated). Click on on Privacy Options and then on Sender Filters from the main menu.

Enter the same email address you’ve entered for the administrator in the field that says List of non-member addresses whose postings should be automatically accepted and save your changes when done.

You can now test your mailing list by sending an email (from the administrator email account) to the mailing list’s address. You can find this information in cPanel:

So if everything went correctly, you should now have received a message to the email address you used to subscribe to your mailing list!
Of course there is a lot more to using this mailing list software. This tutorial is just meant to get you started. If you want to learn more about this visit http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/docs.html
