How To Setup a Mailing List with cPanelSetting up a mailing list is a great way to keep in touch with your contacts easily (ie.: customers, partners, colleagues, etc). Within a few clicks you can send an email to a large group of people without having to enter their email address every time.

cPanel provides you with a built-in mailing list that’s very easy to use. Let’s see how you can setup your own mailing list with it.

This tutorial has been made using cPanel from my HostPapa account so yours might be a little different.

How To Setup A Mailing List

Assuming you’re already logged in cPanel (http://www.yourwebsite.com:2082), click on the Mailing Lists icon from the Mail panel.

Next, fill-in the required fields to create the new mailing list and click on Add Mailing List:

Once the mailing list is created, you should get a confirmation message from cPanel. Click on the Go Back link.

Back to the Mailing List page you should now see the newly created list at the bottom:

Subscribing To Your Mailing List

Before you can use the mailing list, you’ve got to have some subscribers. To allow your visitors to subscribe themselves to the mailing list, direct them to http://yourwebsite.com/mailman/listinfo

From there you will see all the available mailing lists. Click on the newly created list name:

Now simply fill the Subscribing to [list name] section. Depending on how the mailing has been configured, you may be required to confirm your subscription. If so, you will be sent an email with a link to confirm it.

That’s it, you’re done! You will now receive emails sent by the list’s administrator.

Stay tuned for the second part of this tutorial where I will show you how to send emails to your mailing list.
