Find Out How Much Disk Space is Used with cPanel

cPanel HostingA couple of months ago, I’ve made a post on how to find how much space a directory is using on Linux. This tutorial was meant for users who have a shell access though.

So how can you find out which directories are using disk space with cPanel?

The following tutorial has been made using the cPanel X3 Skin on my InMotion Hosting account.

  1. Log into your cPanel control panel with the username and password that was given to you by your web host (the cPanel URL is usually http://www.yourdomainname.com:2082)
  2. Click on the Disk Space Usage icon.

  3. From here you find out how much space is used by directories and subdirectories in your account.

  4. By using the Decrease Depth and Increase Depth buttons, you control how many levels of sub-directories you want to display. So for example, a depth value of 1 would only show the directories in your root folder. A depth value of 2 would show all the directories in the root folder as well as the first level of directories underneath them.

So no more searching for which files or directories are filling your hosting account. Using the Disk Space Usage tool from cPanel will help you find this in no time!
