A Step-By-Step Guide To Setting Up Your Own Blog for Newbies - Part 2

A couple of days ago, I’ve posted the first part of this tutorial which showed you how to signup for a web hosting account. If you’ve followed my advice of getting a cPanel Hosting account with Fantastico Deluxe, you’ll see that the next part will be very easy to go through.

So now that you’ve signed up with a web host, let’s see how to install Wordpress within a few clicks using Fantastico Deluxe.

How To Install Wordpress with Fantastico Deluxe

Fantastico Deluxe is a great tool that allows you to install various web applications without any technical knowledge of web hosting. To access it, start by logging in your cPanel account, usually located at http://www.yourwebsite.com/cpanel

Click on the Fantastico Deluxe icon from the Software / Services panel:

Next click on the Wordpress link from the left menu, right under Blogs. On the next page, click on New Installation. See the screenshot below for an example of how to setup your Wordpress installation:

Take notice that if you leave the directory field blank, Wordpress will be installed at the root of your website (i.e.: http://www.yourwebsite.com).

When you’re done, simply hit the Install Wordpress button and then on Finish Installation from the next page.

And voilà! You’ve got a brand new blog installed. Stay tuned as I will show you how to change your blog’s design.
