This month, US-based web hosting solutions provider, Nexcess, will be expanding its operations into Brisbane, and bring its complete range of Ecommerce-focused managed hosting services expertise to Australia. Nexcess specializes in hosting reliable, secure, performance-optimized websites that are powered by WordPress, ExpressionEngine, and Magento.
The new data center in Brisbane will provide customers with “diverse fiber connectivity to other major Australian cities, New Zealand, and the growing tech economies of Southeast Asia,” according to a recent press release. Maximum uptime is assured with fully-meshed power and cooling systems that are N+1 redundant.
“This is a huge expansion for us,” said Nexcess President and CEO, Chris Wells, in a recent blog article on the company website. “We decided to base ourselves in Australia because it’s a booming market full of innovation, and there is huge potential to bring more purpose built hosting solutions to the region at lower latencies.”
Currently, Nexcess operates two wholly-owned data centers in the United States, in addition to facilities in the United Kingdom.
Last week, Nexcess announced its Platinum-level sponsorship of the 2013 Magento Imagine eCommerce Conference that will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 8 through 10, 2013. Last year, Nexcess improved its Magento hosting platform and created a Magento extension, Turpentine, which was released under an open source GPL2 license.
Founded in 2000, Nexcess is a Magento Platinum Hosting Partner that is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In addition to Magento hosting, Nexcess offers shared hosting, reseller hosting, content delivery network (CDN), SSL certificates, domain registrations, ExpressionEngine hosting, WordPress hosting, and enterprise hosting that includes dedicated servers, enterprise clusters, and Michigan colocation at its wholly-owned data centers. For three consecutive years, Nexcess has been included in Inc. 5000′s list of fast growing businesses.
