Michael was able to get my primary email reset and get me access to the AMP where I could manage my account.

I had waited previously for another person but got cut off before we could get it done.

Pros: He was efficient and courteous
Cons: I had to wait a long time to get to Michael.

This is the WORST hosting company. They cant even maintain a regular VPS account. Their availability is less than 90%. Lost many customers because of their poor hosting service. Their support does not have answers. Their tier 1 support is a joke. They have standard answers to regular questions who dont have much knowledge about IT. Had a friend who worked they and quit the job in less than 2 months. He told me that it was a wreck behind the scenes.

Pros: None
Cons: Everything.

Great service! The technician was knowledgeable, polite, and patient. The only downside was that it took so long to get through. I started call the night prior but wasn't able to get a response until the morning. But once he answered, my problem was solved quickly and efficiently.

Pros: efficient
Cons: timelieness of answering the phone

I've been with InMotion for two years and started on shared hosting through VPS and now on Dedicated Servier. Sadly, the support has gotten much worse the more money I spend.

My site has grown and while they seem to be good at basics, they know force you to pay for Premium Support when it comes to VPS and Dedicated Servers. I found it odd as most companies are going to treat the customers who spend a small fortune with them well, but my experience as many other dedicated server people who've since left, shows that is just not the case.

With each server, I kept feeling like support was trying to push me on upsells to bigger servers. I have no problem upgrading when needed, but after being told by tech support that one Dedicated Server would be all Id need for a year, within a week, another one tried to push me up to a Commercial Server which I didnt need.

Their new Premium Service is just not ready for primetime as it mainly consists of two people. Their hours are only 9 to 6 PM ET so if your site goes down at night your out of luck. Regular support now pushes VPS and Dedicated Server people to the Premium service which you have to pay for.

I'd have no problem paying extra, but when you call a service Premium, you expect that. In the past month after upgrading, I've had more downtime on my site than ever in its 7 year history. I lost a couple great advertisers because of the downtime and then I found out that a few times regular support made changes to my server without my knowledge and then I had to pay the Premium Service to get it fixed. The Advanced Team let me know that this had happened.

I finally broke down and wrote a full letter to what they call Customer Care. It took some time but they finally called me back, but then never once apologized for all the problems or even offered to help fix anything. The person tried to rush me off and make me think it was my fault , but he quickly learned that I understand my server issues and then he kept giving me long pauses of quiet.

I was more than shocked after reading countless good reviews like this one. But after I mentioned my experience on Twitter, the real truth came out about InMotion and two of their employees were very upfront which I appreciated. They let me know it wasn't uncommon for support to make changes which caused more harm than good and then push the customer off onto the Premium Service plan which you have to pay for.

I also was sent over 60 e-mails from people whove left InMotion in the past two months due to problems just like this.

Sadly most people who have left don't write about their experiences with InMotion so all people know are the good reviews. Hopefully this will get posted, but I will be writing further of my nightmare with InMotion Hosting.

They're good if you're a smaller website, but once you take off, they can't handle it.

Pros: Better with small servers
Cons: Premium Service gets pushed on you to pay & dedicated server customers get left out in the cold.

Very difficult to get clear answers from tech support. Different folks have different levels of knowledge. They are more concerned with the "pat" email responses once they try to answer the question. Spent days trying to get simple answers on plans, etc. Very frustrating experience. Did not renew after the first year.

Pros: Uptime
Cons: Tech Support

The support we received was excellent. Your staff was very professional and we were able to resolve the issue at hand. Our issue is that we cannot consistently sign in to our account. This remains an ongoing issue. Each time we sign in, we must try multiple times with the same information before our passwords works. I know it sounds like operator error and very strange, but it is a real problem that we have been experiencing over a prolonged period of time.

Pros: support team
Cons: very difficult to sign into account

Excellent customer service. I got a complete refund for auto-renew hosting that I didn't want.
When I'm ready to put my site online, I will go with inmotion again.

Pros: Fast customer support response. All the hosting features I wanted. and reliable.
Cons: auto-renew should NOT be default, and it should be MUCH EASIER to find and figure out how to disable it.

I purchased the "self-service" package with the intention of putting my own website together with the tools provided by InMotion. (I have put together my own site previously using another service, so I know how to do it). It quickly became apparent that these "tools" simply DO NOT WORK... website elements do not line up properly, fonts and pictures do not size properly... in fact, the whole thing seemed to be a fairly transparent attempt to get people to throw up their hands and say "the heck with it... I'll just pay one of their web designers to do it for me". I am NOT a fan of this kind of passive aggressive business model... I can't speak to how good their designers are and it may be a good choice if you know you want someone else to do it for you... but if you think you're going to put anything cohesive together on your own you will be sorely disappointed and aggravated. Also, it is difficult to cancel your subscription... you cannot do so online (at least I could not) and have to actually call them to cancel... On a positive note, the support staff I interacted with were very cordial and friendly. Can't recommend these guys overall, though... waste of my money.

Pros: Staff seemed cordial
Cons: Seems to be a set up to drive you to their web design services

I got an email notice that my bill was overdue - I believe I lost the credit card that I had given for annual payments. I called the company after I received the second notice. My call was professionally handled - it only took a couple of minutes to give a new credit card number. Very well handled, quick, courteous.

Pros: All pro!
Cons: None....

When I was with other hosting providers they where mostly limited to 1 Maybe 2 Option, but inmotion has set me with more options that open up the limitations that are on other hosting providers. one of the options should fit a Personale's comfortable prefences accordingly. Other than their great service there support are great, ready informative and to the point because I have been through loads of hosting providers but some of them can't help you yet they should know how there entire system should work. making them unqualified for the job. When I joined they had already provided me with how to transfer my domain without many problems.

Pros: Amazing and qualified support, great uptime, great service, no unkept promises even before you join. Simply just great 5/5.
Cons: I haven't found any cons.
