GoDaddy is one of the most well known, if slightly notorious web providers in the world. GoDaddy has earned much of its mainstream fame from Super Bowl commercials, though informed users have known of the company since 1997.
GoDaddy has consistently been recognized by the media, including such sources as the Inc 500 List and the Name Intelligence Users’ Choice Award. GoDaddy’s website is of superb design, using video content and media-friendly graphics to its advantage. Some of GoDaddy’s biggest sales (not to mention awards) come from the company’s handling of domain names, not necessarily web hosting.
More than a few users have stated that GoDaddy’s web hosting services don’t live up to their domain name dominance. GoDaddy offers three major packages to users: an Economy package, Deluxe plan, and Unlimited Plan. The Economy package costs only $4.99 a month but users are limited to only 10 GB of storage space and 300 GB of bandwidth. The unlimited plan offers exactly what it says: unlimited storage and transfer but still limited to 1,000 email accounts.
IX Web Hosting, in comparison, is less about flash and more about substance. Their opening page is not as stylish as GoDaddy (in fact, it’s rather strange as it features a pair of sunglasses and a tie on a lifeless box) but what they say is hard to dismiss. IX Web Hosting offers reliable web hosting for $3.95. (A Business Plus plan goes for $6.45 and an Unlimited Pro goes for $12.95. The basic membership offers unlimited storage, unlimited domains, unlimited bandwidth and a free site builder. It also gives users 2,500 email accounts. The Business Plus plan goes a little further and offers 24/7 technical support, ecommerce help, website statistics and free scripting. While it’s easy to criticize the company’s insistence on customers ordering a higher plan for faster help, it’s hard to fault a company that offers unlimited growth potential for such a low price.
You may be hard-pressed to find any other web hosting service that offers unlimited hosting for $3.95 a month. Still, users may want to know that this price does require a two-year contract and that only Linux is available on the basic plan. For all of IX Web Hosting’s limitations, it still offers a much better deal than GoDaddy’s basic hosting plan. IX Web Hosting also provides a 30-day money back guarantee, which is standard in the industry, but does go a long way in giving users confidence in the service. Though IX Web Hosting may not be as famous as GoDaddy it was established way back in 1999. It has call centers based in America and enthusiastically sings the praises of its data centers as well as its technical support customer service. IX Web Hosting wins this contest easily as the provider offers more features for less money.

IX-Webhosting does not give unlimited hosting. It only caches customers by saying as I was informed via email today that on my Business Plan that I have limits of 15GB hosting space and 64GB data-transfer bandwidth limit. Therefore I will inform all new customers not get deceived by their unlimited offer. I have proofs for this.
