HostGator Vs InMotion Hosting

InMotion Hosting Vs HostGatorHostGator (review) and InMotion Hosting (review) are two well known hosting companies who have built a very strong reputation over the years.

And because they’ve been both able to offer great hosting services and products, it’s no wonder a lot of people are hesitating between them when it’s time to get a web host.

InMotion Hosting Overview

With offices in Los Angeles and Virgina, InMotion Hosting has been in the hosting industry since 2001. They are a successful hosting company knowned for their expert staff and professional and friendly support.

InMotion Hosting offers four (4) different types of hosting products: Personnal / Cheap Hosting, Business Class Hosting, Virtual Private Servers and Dedicated Servers. All of their hosting plans are based on Linux servers.

HostGator Overview

HostGator has its headquarters established in Florida since 2002. They have gained tremendous popularity in the website hosting community with their dynamic image and presence. They now host over a million domains on their servers.

HostGator offers three (3) different types of hosting products: Website Hosting, Reseller Hosting and Dedicated Servers. At this point, website hosting and reseller hosting packages are based on Linux servers although Windows Servers “will be available soon” (they have been “available soon” for quite some time now).  But as for Dedicated Servers, you do get the choice between Linux and Windows hosting.

Support

Both web hosts offer great support all around the clock seven days a week. You can either join them by phone or through their ticket system. This is really a good thing not all web hosts offer phone support, let alone 24×7 phone support.

They also provide live chat which I really like because that’s what I tend to use most as far as I’m concerned. I don’t like waiting on the phone or waiting for an email reply to my support ticket. For Skype users out there, you’ll be happy to learn that HostGator can also be contacted through this technology.

So What’s Next?

Stay tuned as we’ll provide more in-depth comparison between HostGator and InMotion Hosting. We’ll compare both web hosts’ hosting plans side-by-side and see pros and cons of each others so you can make the best decision.
