BlueHost Vs DreamHost

So which web host would you pick for your website? BlueHost or DreamHost? To me the answer is obvious: BlueHost is a much better web host than DreamHost.

Let me tell you why.

• First of all, DreamHost’s control panel is awful. I really don’t know what they thought when they had their custom control panel developped but it’s very confusing. BlueHost on the other hand uses cPanel, the best hosting panel in the industry.
• DreamHost lacks a good script installer. Ok sure they’ve got one but it just can’t compare to Fantastico Deluxe which is a proven script installer with over 40 web applications to install within a few clicks.
• DreamHost doesn’t provide phone support. Well they sort of provide phone support but they only provide a limited number of callbacks. Try finding a phone number on DreamHost’s website. With BlueHost you’ll get highly professional customer support 24 x 7. You can contact them by phone, live chat or email. They have worked hard to achieve a high level of customer support and everything is based in the U.S
• BlueHost’s servers are way more faster and reliable than DreamHost’s. I’ve tried both web hosts and DreamHost is just not as stable a BlueHost. Just visit this DreamHost status page and see for yourself.
• BlueHost has a strong user community. Head over to BlueHost’s forum and you’ll find many users just like you who are eager to help you out. This isn’t the usual technical forum where you’d be ripped apart for asking a newbie question. It’s a great community you’ll be happy to be a part of.

Starting your first website can be a complicated task enough in itself so do yourself a favor and don’t make web hosting complicated too. Get a fast and reliable web host with a great control panel and lots of useful features. This will make things so much easier.

That said, I highly recommend BlueHost over DreamHost.
