InMotion Hosting began when we found an overwhelming lack of support and quality of service through-out the hosting industry. Our founders, who have been involved in the industry since 1997, decided to create a company that did something different. Put the client first. 2. My business website doesn’t require a lot of resources. Why should I choose a Business Class Hosting plan instead of a Value Class package? Well, our Value Class plans are geared more towards the personal user versus the business user. Even though a business owner may feel their site doesn’t require a lot of resources, there are quite a few features offered exclusively in our Business Class plans that should be very important for today’s business owner. Our Business Class hosting clients enjoy data backups every 24 hours versus once a week with Personal Plans, we utilize higher-end servers and equipment for Business Class clients resulting in faster website performance and we also just launched a new premium website builder that isn’t available for Personal clients. These are just a few of the advantages. 3. Your Business Class Hosting plans offer unlimited disk space and bandwidth. Should your customers be concerned by overselling? Can this affect the performance of their websites? When the industry started turning to unlimited disk space and bandwidth I think most of our competitors were probably biting their nails and pacing the floor. We felt the exact opposite! The turn away from using arbitrary limits on gigabytes and megabytes allows us to really shine the light on what sets InMotion Hosting apart, our focus on providing the best support and highest quality of service in the industry. We never outsource our support and every single one of our reps is an in-house employee located right here in the U.S. This allows us to ensure that they’ve been trained to highest level and gives us the opportunity to closely monitor the level of support our clients are receiving. 5. Moving from a web host to another can be quite painful sometime. What can you do for customers who want to transfer their website to InMotion Hosting? We actually have quite a few clients transfer to us from other hosts, and it’s no wonder with the poor level of support offered by many of our competitors. Our support team will work with the client every step of the way, from transferring their domain to migrating their directories to importing their databases. How many data centers do you have and where are they located? We currently have our datacenter located here in Los Angeles and we’ll be opening an additional datacenter in the very near future. This will allow clients the ability to choose which datacenter their site resides in, allowing even faster performance to their geographic area. 7. If I need a dedicated server but don’t have the knowledge or experience to manage it, how can InMotion Hosting help me out? Our dedicated servers come with a full copy of cPanel pre-installed so they’re as easy to manage as a shared or VPS account. Our expert staff is available to help guide our dedicated clients with many standard software installations free of charge. We also offer custom software installations for very reasonable additional fees. 8. How do you ensure your servers’ reliability and performance? Most other hosts piece together their servers with parts from the cheapest supplier; we refuse to cut corners on what is one of the most important aspects of website hosting. We only use Dell™ commercial grade servers which utilize RAID5 data protection so that in the event of a hard disk failure there is no data lose or downtime. Our servers also incorporate multiple, separate RAM modules, processors and network connections so that if any of these items fail there is no lose of service for the client. In addition, our Dedicated Server plans are backed by a 2 hour hardware SLA. All of our servers are also optimized to ensure the fastest possible execution of operations, we’ve experienced speeds up to 50% faster than other hosts that we’ve benchmarked. 9. Many “unlimited hosting companies” suspend hosting accounts due to high load. What is InMotion Hosting policy about this? We don’t suspend accounts outright; if a client is affecting the quality of service for other clients we’ll immediately move them to a different machine. We’ll take a look at what’s causing the issue. If it’s a broken script or an inefficient SQL query we’ll work with them on getting the issue resolved, if it’s just a matter of their site requiring more resources we’ll work with them on moving up to a VPS or dedicated server. If you’re a local business, such as a dry cleaner or auto mechanic and just need a website to direct your customers to or accent your traditional marketing channels a Launch Plan would probably fit that need. If you’re looking for an ecommerce capable site to sell your products directly, you’d want to go with either a Power or Pro. If you’re looking to grow nationally or are looking to utilize more advanced functionality you’d probably want to go with a VPS or Dedicated plan.
