Is Your Web Host Accredited by the Better Business Bureau?

When you shop around for a web host, how do you make sure the companies are up to the industry’s standards? You might find some sort of awards or accreditation they received but what are they really worth?

One valuable certification you can look for is the Better Business Bureau Reliability Program. Most certified web hosts will proudly display the BBB’s stamp on their website (see the top right image of this post).

The Better Business Bureau evaluates business on a number of criterias and keep monitoring the company to ensure to live up the expectations of such a certification. The standards are a comprehensive set of best practices for how businesses should treat the public in a fair and honest manner. Every BBB Accredited Business is monitored for continuing adherence to BBB standards.

A few things that you can see from this report are that:

• InMotion Hosting has been a member of the BBB since late June 2003;
• InMotion Hosting is rated “A” by the BBB;
• There have been only 7 complaints since 2003, from which five have resulted in the customer being refunded.

These are only a few things among others you can learn from your web host by verifying their Better Business Bureau accredition. And may you have any complaints to fill against your web host, the BBB is a good place to start if they’re accredited.
