Please allow this email to express what potential customers should know about my experience of interacting with 1&1 (or at least attempting to)...
------------------------------- Dear 1&1 Internet Ltd, Could someone at your company please explain to me why no one in the billing department has been capable of replying to ANY of NINE emails sent to them over the past THREE WEEKS in direct continuance of an unresolved conversation concerning their demands for payment? This persistant act of willful ignorance is an embarrassment to whatever professional image you may imagine yourselves to possess. How HARD can it possibly be to confirm receipt of said payment, when I have done all that THEY HAVE ASKED me to do to facilitate this acknowledgement? And if, for whatever mindboggling reason, all billing staff lack the competence to identify and allocate the funds using the REQUESTED information, then do they not have the courage and the decency to admit this? To my knowledge all email software is delivered with a reply button as standard, yet none of your employees have seen fit to use it for any purpose whatsoever despite my repeated and direct requests to do so. If you are going to make threats to your customers about hiring debt collectors over a fee of 9.94, even AFTER confessing that the payment you have been advised has been made will take 10-14 days to confirm at your end, then the very LEAST you can do is confirm resolution of the matter when the (now-ex) customer has done everything required to settle their balance. It has now been over a month since payment was made and all requested BACS details were supplied. To be consistantly ignoring my requests for confirmation of receipt - the most BASIC of functions in any professional outfit - is nothing short of pathetic. This personal account was not the first time I had used 1&1 for my needs, but this insultingly shambolic experience has ensured it will be the last. It may mean little to lose one budget-end customer, especially one who allowed an invoice to lapse for an unused (and presumed expiring) account, but the appallingly dismissive attitude that your company has shown towards an issue that you had previously deemed worthy of threats is beyond shameful. Given this insight to the company's values, that the other departments receiving this email might be embarrassed by their billing colleagues' behaviour may be too much to expect. Until demonstrated otherwise, I can only assume that this is how 1&1 conducts its business across the board. However, in the event that my assumptions are wrong, I hope that this message finds its way to a manager or supervisor who indeed cares about the inactivity of their front line team, and that something is finally done. One very simple reply is all it takes. Three weeks. Nine emails. No response. Utterly inappropriate. PLEASE REPLY. ------------------------------- The above email was sent over two weeks ago and there has still been no reply from anybody at 1&1, despite another three follow-up messages now totalling 12 that have gone unanswered. This company has nothing but contempt for its users. AVOID like the plague.
